Menolippu Mombasaan
Lyrics:
Jäi Mombasaan vain päivä elämää
Ja elämään nyt Mombasa vain jää
Kuumankostean minä tunsin Mombasan
ja meren, taivaan afrikan
Mä ensin näin vain meren sinisen
Ja koralliin löi aallot jylisten
Pärskeen takaa näin sinun hahmos yllättäin
Sä nousit rantaan nauraen
Ja simpukan, niin vaahdonvalkoisen
sä ojensit ja katsoit hymyillen
Koskin simpukkaa ja sen pintaa karheaa
kuin vartaloas kosteaa.
Kun polttaen löi tuuli kasvoihin,
niin käsissäs sä kannoit aaltoihin
Tyrskyn alle jäin. Olit vahva sylissäin,
niin lämmin suolanmakuinen.
Kun saapui yö, niin tyrskyt lannistui
ja lahdelmaan vain kevyt vaahto ui
Kuulin unessain leopardin huudon vain
ja kosketin sua uudestaan

this is the decent, approach and landing in mombasa, kenya. After 10 hours of flying the pilots seemed almost a little too keen to get onto the ground and the result was, after a very gentle decent, somewhat of a thud off a landing.

Two armies that were once at a neck to neck war, now live at peace. Despite this, there is still high tension between the two armies. Both control a small sector of Mombassa, a desocrite city known for it's oil refineries, Military Stations and Weapon Facilities. Mombassa was spilt in half after the war, with the White Army gaining control of the West of the city and Steel Army controling the East. However, when a 3rd army's greed comes into play, the Gold Army which is too small to fight both the armies at once, will instead frame the White Army for the death of two Steel Army member's hoping to weaken both the armies forces before attacking. Chaos and mayhem ensues in what will be the most memorable battle in the history.

These are kids in Mombasa playing soccer/football. They are a team that my buddy Johnny Mayaka put together and coaches to give them something to do and keep them off the streets.
The music is "Ndivyo Sivyo" by the Tanzanian hip-hop artist Professor J and Ugandan artist Chameleone
(check out the original video here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmArBP8Oiik
this is a solid example of good East African hip-hop)
I shot this footage in December of 2007 at the request of my buddy Johnny who was also my Swahili tutor - he's the guy seen in the video coaching. Most of these kids are Muslims - note the mosque in the background. It is also interesting to see that they play barefoot and don't seem bothered or slowed down at all.

A visit to Mombasa, the Kenyan coast, is incomplete without a visit to Ngomongo Villages
Ngomongo Villages Park is a collection of 9 diverse RURAL KENYA TRIBAL HOMESTEADS, each complete with hut, cultivated crops, domestic and wild animals ( like crocodiles for the El molo man) wild animal traps, charms and fetishes, tinsmiths and even a village witch doctor!
Each village has tribe - specific activities for you to engage in, including archery, boating, rafting, tasting tribal foods and liquor, forest walk, hook fishing, grinding and pounding maize. After the trek through the village households, you get the " deja vu" feeling that you have literally walked throughout rural Kenya in only 1 ½ hours.
The park is situated in an abandoned quarry that has been reclaimed into a lush forest over a ten year period. Integrated in this lush forest are 9 diverse rural Kenya tribal households.

Yet ANOTHER unfinished film that I made A LONG TIME AGO! I worked on this back in the Halo 2 days with Minority. This was actually the last thing I did before I started up the Marathon Man Series 2 YEARS LATER.
I admit the idea of doing a Narnia type movie on Halo would of been kinda awkward but it could of happened and I might plan on finishing it actually. When they go through the portal at the end I can have them transported in the Halo 3 world now and continue with the story!
So if you would like to see that happen just leave a comment below and state your opinion on if I should continue this film later on or just drop it altogether!
