From http://www.GamblersTelevision.com Hello Fight fans this is Dana Ward here with a quick hitter from Boxing. They are calling it The Dream Match. The Golden Boy Oscar De La Hoya makes his return to the ring on Saturday December 6th to fight Manny Pacquiao. The 12 round bout will be in the 147-pound weight classification and it will be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will be televised on Pay-Per-View. Oscar De La Hoya has a professional record of 39 wins and 5 losses and has won World Titles in 6 different weight divisions. 30 of The Golden Boys 39 wins have come by knockout. But the 35-year-old De La Hoya has lost 3 of his past 6 fights. Oscar last fought at 147 pounds back on March of 2001 when he defeated Arturo Gatti by TKO in the 5th round. He has spent the last 7 years fighting in heavier weight divisions of 150lbs or greater. De La Hoya will have a 6-inch reach advantage over his opponent Manny Pacquiao. Manny Pacquiao sports a professional record of 47 wins, 3 losses and 2 draws. Fighting at 147 lbs will be the heaviest for Pacquiao in the squared circle. Manny came in at 134 ½ lbs when he defeated David Diaz by knockout in June of this year. As De La Hoya was disposing of Arturo Gotti in March of 2001 weighing 147 pounds Pacquiao was in the ring 1 month later in April of 2001 weighing just 122 pounds in his native country the Phillipines. Pacquiao began his professional career in January of 1995 fighting at just 106 pounds in the light flyweight division. Oddsmakers have listed Oscar De La Hoya as the minus 240 favorite with Manny Pacquiao the underdog at plus 180. Many boxing pundits feel Oscar De La Hoya should be favored here because The Golden Boy has a strength advantage along with his 6-inch reach advantage. That will do it for now. 23. At least philippines are kickin' ass in Bowling, Boxing and Billiards. Hopefully Baseball would be next because Filipino needs to stop dreaming of becoming NBA players because they're just too short. What has the rest of southeast asia done? Too bad Soccer & Baseball isn't popular in the Philippines because I'm 100% sure Filipinos would excel in those 2 sports. No height requirements haha.
