- Informative video.
- I am now in college and I am very proud to say that I began my education at a Montessori school. I studied there until primary school. A year after, I transferred to a public school and noticed the big difference in the teaching style and the cognitive level of the students. I long for the days in which I was able to enjoy learning in the Montessori way. Where I was able to learn things independently and at my own phase.
- Yes, there is one in MN. Winona...
- i go to montessori but i really love the fact that the teachers are so helpful they really take the time to work with each and every child at his or her own pace.
- what grade r u in now?
- I just started a job as a teacher assistant at a Montessori school...and it's freaking awesome. These kids are so self-sufficient, and much calmer than kids at private school. In the toddler classroom, they have these little kids setting the table and serving eachother food...its' the cutest thing ever. :)
- Is a Montessori school considered a "private" school? I didn't realize that this type of education could continue to high school. Anyone know if there are any in MN (beyond kindergarten that is)? I thought it was all based around toddlers...
- Montessori is a lot of fun, I teach pre k! =)
- Great video for parents looking for an appropriate school for their children. Gives an accurate account of what the Montessori method is, particularly for preschoolers.
- I want to teach in a montessori school.
- =] I go to Montessori. It's a fun school. Because we get to use everything that there is. And we don't have desks or anything, and we just sit at some random table when wanted. But in 7-8 grade, we have more of a high school way of things, with having a schedule of each class we have to go to, but it all happens in the same room. It's only to help transfer schools, to go to the more strict way of High School.
- This is so awesome!!! I remember all the materials in this video! I went to Montessori from primary through 5th year and absolutely loved it. Utopia. Here's something interesting that the video didn't mention. The kids call their teacher by his/her first name to promote mutual respect. We already knew the teacher was there to teach so there's no need to remind about their status. I thought it was the weirdest thing when I went to another school and the kids called their teachers by Mr./Ms. ***.
- Educating for Peace goes through high school. There are still only a handful of schools that go through high school but they are growing. I have visited and shot at Clark Montessori in Cincinnati where students can attend public Montessori from early childhood through high school. It was recently given a "Bronze" award by the US News and World Report. Also children have the choice how long they want to do an activity. They move on at their own pace.
- Have a high school example? Also, what if the kid ends up doing the same thing over and over again forever. What if he doesn't get the basics (reading/writing, math, etc.). Is there some type of teaching schedule? I dono, seems good and all but could be bad for students who don't do much and need guidance and direction.
- I REMEMBER SO MUCH OF THIS!!! I went to Montessori for 7-8 years [I'm 16 now] and its seriously the best school system I've ever seen or experienced. Learning through discovery is a huge help for retention and actual understanding of concepts. AND it's fun!
- this is a nice video, but does anyone know what happened to that video that started out showing a pregnant mothers tummy and was really wonderful? can anyone give me information about it...it was beautifully done!!!
- anyone could give me a montessori GRADUATION THEME? I'll appreciate any response..i will owe you big time. Thanks so much..
- The video is very informative especially for students taking Early childhood Education. I will surely use this video to familiarize my college students regarding Montessori approach in teaching. I hope to see more of Montessori practices and materials that chidlren use in the classroom. thank you
- I watch this and wish school was like that for me. With all the problems I had, this style of learning would have made it so much easier. Thank you.
- I just observed a montessori classroom and fell in love with this method!
- my dream classroom!
- In the public schools, it's the same as other teachers. In private schools, it varies a lot. I would talk to training programs in your area to get a good sense of the market in your area.
- i think all schools should be like this . icant learn anything in mine, becasue its too much teacher talking.
- What's the starting salary for a montessori teacher with diploma qualification?
- awesome, im taking a montessori course now and this helped me explain to my mom what im learning =)
