    if you have major surgey on the colon, you can no longer pass feaces hrough it, a stoma in theory does that job for you. (basic reason)

    My mom just had this procedure done about 2 weeks ago. This has helped me understand what she will have to do and if I need to help her her as well. I think for what I didn't know, this video has helped me better educate myself on what I may need to do in her future.

    There are a number of reasons why somebody would have a stoma. The main cause is bowel cancer but there are many other causes as well such as Crohns etc
