    It has '7' in the title just because it is based upon Final Fantasy VII video game - well, not actually based, but it enhance its story a bit. But to answer your question - yes, there is one more movie about Final Fantasy - called 'Final Fantasy - The Spirits Within'. But the storyline has nothing to do with this film or any of the previous games. Still - it's a good SGI.

    personally, i found the movie interesting when it came to fights and visuals. but there was not enough camera time with the other characters. i'm a fan of ff7 and i would've prefered to see more of barret, red xiii,cid, and the rest. the omnislash would've been a better finish also.

    you're right, most "fanboys" praise FF7, but I think that's mostly because it was their first decent RPG. Like, regardless of any RPG I play these days, Chrono Trigger and FF6 will still be the best RPGs I've ever played IMO. But I won't deny that FF7 had an amazingly deep story line and great music & gameplay. FF9 going "back to basics" begs the question what are the basics? FF9 was like a children's story version of FF. Classics like 6 had much more mature and deeper content than 9 ever did.
