I discovered that due to technical video problems in her first set at Blues Alley in Washington DC USA,There is not a video in existance of Eva performing her version of Fields Of Gold. Eva is no longer with us now. Therefore, I have edited clips of Eva, slowed them down, and set them to her beautiful version of Fields Of Gold. I hope you enjoy this clip as it is probably the closest we will ever get, short of having been there in Washington that night, to seeing Eva perform this beautiful song. Note: I scoured the planet and this is the only video version you will probably find of her performing this song. Birth name Eva Marie Cassidy Born February 2, 1963(1963-02-02) Washington, DC Origin Maryland, United States Died November 2, 1996 (aged 33) Bowie, Maryland To see, hear and learn more about Eva,please visit http://www.evacassidy.org ~Ric~ ________________________________________ P.S. Hengehugger has the ABC Nightline video documentary in three parts posted on YouTube.I recommend you all give it a view.Lots of clips and background on Eva.This is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sd9pWLrjyUg&feature=related Lyrics to Evas' version: You'll remember me when the west wind moves Among the fields of barley You can tell the sun in his jealous sky When we walked in fields of gold So she took her love for to gaze awhile Among the fields of barley In his arms she fell as her hair came down Among the fields of gold Will you stay with me will you be my love Among the fields of barley And you can tell the sun in his jealous sky When we walked in fields of gold I never made promises lightly And there have been some that I've broken But I swear in the days still left We will walk in fields of gold We'll walk in fields of gold I never made promises lightly And there have been some that I've broken But I swear in the days still left We will walk in fields of gold We'll walk in fields of gold Many years have passed since those summer days Among the fields of barley See the children run as the sun goes down As you lie in fields of gold You'll remember me when the west wind moves Among the fields of barley You can tell the sun in his jealous sky When we walked in fields of gold When we walked in fields of gold When we walked in fields of gold

  1. i love this song soo much!!! if you have time you should check out my cover of it and tell me what you think.
  2. MAGNIFIQUE....
  3. There will be no changes to this channels format. The End! ~Ric~
  4. what did she die of?i was moved by her"autumn leaves".she was a lovely singer...
  5. Dairycowfarm, Eva died on November 2nd, 1996. But yes, she is now an eternal legend. The music she makes is nothing short of perfect. Better, even.
  6. Than add a tab "Sting" under the "more info"-area if you are so persistent in not mentioning the original composer. This is not an Eva Cassidy-song, but her (excellent) cover of a Sting-song. Writers are usually not credited for and not mentioned. Like directors and screenwrites of films: it is usually the performers. I think it is a little weird that you feel no need to credit the person who actually filmed the actual footage which has since (4 years later) became world famous.
  7. this song is so nice it makes me relaz everytime i listen to it she is a living legend =)=)
  8. best of the best ....
  9. Soooo firstly Davooz, if you care to look to the right under more info I clearly typed-Fields Of Gold 'Cover'. I feel no need to credit the source on this particular video. It's well known that Sting wrote it and I will not get into the semantics! This verion was perfomed live by Eva and I simply edited clips together so there was something to watch(also explained under more info) ~Ric~
  10. So RicBNH is this the live sung audio version or a recoreded audio version over random video footage (of the night of the live performance). Also get your sources right and mention the original composer of the song (music&lyrics I think it was Sting (of the Police) in hte edit area.
