  1. THANK YOU:-) Make it tight, The canvas sags if you do not. With Practice it gets easier.
  2. Hey Dan, From an artist making a living in the Midwest art show circuit, and just now getting around to making my own wraps with the Epson, THANKS-your vid here totally explains a great way to get the gallery wrap done right.
  3. Nice vid. Is giclee paper? Didn't know you could stretch it. Cool.
  4. SOMEBODY woke up on the wrong side of the bed today.
  5. SEARCH GREENPOWERSCIENCE ic9xifdDkyI
  6. Great job! I use a 2 by 2 from Lowes and it works fine for me. I was just wondering how you manage to get that beveled edge to get that floating canvas look. That is sweet! Thank you for posting!
  7. Split a 2 x 4 down the middle and trim a ridge all on a table saw. I will have a howto posting soon on GreenPowerScience channel. Wood is 1 3/4 thick. Go to Lowes and find the lightest, straightest 2 x 4 you can find. Dig through the pile. Then cut it in half. Not really 2" x 4" Measure the board and accommodate for the saw blade. Then set the blade 1/4" shorter that the wood height and cut a 1/8" deep ridge.
  8. Fantastic! just wondering what was the gage of the timber and how did you get it customised?
  9. Get an Epson large format printer. Buy Fredrix WATER RESISTANT CANVAS. Intsall profiles or use ENHANCED MATTE setting. PRINT. All images should be 150ppi at true size. Don't waste time or money on 1440. Print at 720 for canvas. If you will be painting on it with acrylics, DO NOT CLEAR COAT. Wait until done. THEN CLEAR COAT, then STRETCH. Make it VERY TIGHT. They will not sag if you do it tight.
  10. how cool this is thank you i have been painting for14 years and i want to sell prints and keep my originals how do i make giclee do i have to pay a pro to do it
  11. what brand of varnish is that
  12. can u varnish paper prints
  13. try an electric stapler too
  14. I have to say about your stretching, that is an incredible amount of work! Have you ever considered a stretching machine? Also buying already cut stretching bars? I have an art gallery and I have to stretch over 2000 paintings a year and it takes me about 10 minutes to assemble my bars and stretch one painting. I stretch anywhere from an 8x10 to 36x48 I can stretch about 50+ paintings in a day. You did a great job but you might want to look into a machine.
  15. If you ever get tiny bubbles, wait until clear coat is almost dry/still tack and blot bubbles flat with your finger. This makes them blend in. Clean dry finger.
  16. I use a lacquer photo coat with UV protection and a HVLP airgun. I have successfully used clear spray enamel $.97 a can stuff from Walmart and that works great. The secret is even coats. All clear varnish sprays will appear to leave streaks but they go away when drying is complete. Unless very uneven cat is applied. I like to coat the print first as is is less likely to get scuffed up or stained when stretching.
  17. What do you suggest to coat the print with before? Would crystal clear work well, or do you recommend using the airbrush? I have an airbrush~ just dont know a good product to use with prints :D
  18. Thanks for the demo. Nicely done.
