    Good question. The whole show is very complicated and unique,which makes it good,but a bit confusing. I think even if you NEVER write in it,NEVER look in it,even if a shinigami follows you,you won't go to heaven or hell. That's the whole point of a death note...if you're lucky enough to dodge one then good for you. If you happen to cross one and pick it up then you're screwed.

    im sure in japan if you went there youd be able to get around just fine because so many people know atleast some english. its a second language in arab countries that was true for me not everyone spoke english but enough people that i could get where i wanted and take care of what i needed. In some countries you have to have two languages to pass high school. English and native language
