    i learned how to bind off in a different way than this vid that i think is a little bit easier, but this video is very excellent and very clear and actually helped me with the knit stitch, couldn't figure it out very well before. thank you!

    thanks so much! my grandma tried to teach me how to knit when i was a kid, to no avail. my first endeavour was a square pot holder, by the end it was a triangle. i want to try this again.

    i'm trying so hard but I can't tell if I am doing it right I get the cast on and I think the first row, but them it seems kinda upside down and the 2nd row just isn't happening. ahh. I can crochet but I figured I'd learn how to knit too, but it's hard so far

    Well, casting on is just how to get the knitting started and then you use different stitches (knit, purl, etc) to make up a design. But there are many methods to cast on - this video just demonstrates one of those methods.

    Have you tried casting on a bit looser? Or trying another cast-on method? I have another video showing the knitted cast-on, perhaps that will help. I can't really say what it is for sure without seeing it, though.
