   Joeys only weight about an ounce when born, and look like little worms. They stay in the pouch continuously for about 4-5 months while they develop and grow, then start to poke their heads out. As they mature, they leave the pouch entirely, first for short periods (as seen here) and later, for good.

    We get Kangaroos in our backyard in Perth! Iv'e seen this happen heaps of times, but its still cute. We often have to take in Baby Roos if their mums abandon them. Sometimes i get to nurse them till there a few years old! Its amazing
